Website now complete

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

I think it’s fair to say that with the migration of my blog into the new design my website is pretty much complete for now. It’s been a bit of a slog but I’m generally quite happy with the results.

I’ll be tweaking bits here and there over the next few weeks. In the meantime if anyone has any feedback I’ll be glad to hear it!

Portfolio Executive now recruiting a coder

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

From Shazz:

The wheels are in motion on Portfolio Executive and we’re ready to hire a coder.

The project is still undercover - not quite “stealth”, as we’ve let some information out - but still somewhat secretive. We can offer some broad information which should be enough to spark interest from the right person:

Alton Towers

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

Last weekend Laura and I went to Alton Towers just for the hell of it and it rocked! The weather held out on us mostly although we did have a bit of drizzle in the morning, but this kept away the crowds. Nearly all of the rides had reasonable queues, and for those that didn’t we had fast tracks which meant we weren’t waiting for any more than about 15 minutes (Fast tracks are well worth buying).

The rides were amazing but I was a little disappointed with Air. It’s a cool concept, but lying face down loses its appeal after about 5 seconds. The second time round we got on the front which made it slightly better, but I didn’t once feel like I was flying like they advertised. Now Oblivion on the other hand, that is a ride! On the way down I actually thought I was going to die.

So as the summer is coming up if you get a chance to go, do! It’s an amazing day out even if you don’t like the roller coasters… the grounds are beautiful and vast which makes for good walking.

More soon!

(Also, what on earth have they done to Wordpress? I’ve just upgraded to 2.5 and I’m wondering why they decided to ruin the admin area.)
